Manifesto: One Psyche, Many Lives
There is one psyche, but many lives.
I’m not referring to reincarnation, I’m not sure I believe in it. I’m not even referring to the idea that all forms of life flow from one consciousness, although I strongly believe in it.
I’m referring to the multiplicity of possible lived experiences in this body and this Here and Now.
I’m referring to our fluid identities, to the fact that we’re beings in constant flux. I’m referring to the image of the Rhizome, to our ‘networks of being’ and entanglements, and how they shape us, temporarily. I’m referring to shape-shifting and to dynamic becoming over static being.
I’m referring to the infinite flux of Sunyata, the emptiness that’s pregnant with all possibilities and potentialities. I’m referring to the Body without Organs, have you found yours yet?
I’m referring to the idea that we’re not bound and caged by our subjectivations or by our personal histories. I’m referring to rebellion against fixity, to the innate and fierce fire in us that can burn our old ontological garbs and poke fun at discourses and codes and histories, that can create contingent personal histories and pave the way for new pathways and trajectories.
I’m referring to the fact that all life is phenomenological so the narratives and lenses we use to interpret it do matter.
I’m referring to multiplicity and its celebration.
And finally, I’m referring to how and why we should open up our being. If this psyche isn’t exclusive to us anyway, why not enjoy its multiple expressions when we can?
